Psychological Impact

As children with ASD do not understand social cues and are unaware of their social environment, they are often seen by others as “odd” or “strange”. Typically they lack the social skills to make friends and interact with their peers. They are often lonely without friends and may even be the target of bullying by their peers in the school setting. As the child continues to experience the world in a clueless way, this leads to secondary problems such as social isolation, frustration, anxiety, stress, and low self-esteem. These psychological problems further hinder their development.

Children with ASD need a lot of understanding, acceptance and help for them to develop their full potential.
